Hey Morning squad,

Last night gave us our latest star injury of these NBA playoffs.

1)But don’t believe the hype, the Bucks didn’t lose because of Giannis’s injury.

There was a lot of doubt about the Hawk's chances heading into game 4.

Trae was a game-time decision.

But in the end, he couldn’t go. Lou Williams was given the start.

And start he did.

These Young Hawks led by the 16-year Vet were getting buckets and playing defense.

Through almost 3 quarters, Lou couldn’t miss. Going 6 of 6. Dishing 8 dimes.

And the Hawks had scoring coming from everywhere:

Huerter — 15

Capela — 15

Bogdanovic — 20

Gallinari — 10

Reddish — 12

I mean Capela hit a shot from behind the backboard!

Even before Giannis went down, the Bucks were down as much as 20.

And Giannis was trying to will his team to a comeback, which is what made his injury all the more heartbreaking.

He helped to chip it down to a 10 point lead.

And then in a common play underneath the basket, Capella happens to come down too close to Giannis and he hyperextends his knee.

It was nasty!

I’m sure he’ll have an MRI today to check for soft tissue injury, but it’s likely he’s going to be out at least a game.

But in the end, Lou Williams was able to lead this Hawks squad to a 22 point win against the favored Bucks.

110- 88

2)These playoffs have been rattled with star injuries.

But what has been most impressive has been how un-rattled some of these teams have been as a result.

There is a resilience in these Hawks, and even the Clippers, that is helping to write a new story about how teams compete.

Stars matter. But so does everyone else on the roster.

This is team-first basketball.

That’s basketball in its highest form.

And that’s a basketball that I can watch…even when the stars dim.

Prayers for a speedy recovery for Trae and Giannis. The game is still better when they’re in it.

That’s it.

Be well, stay healthy, and Happy Wednesday!
