What if I told you the best team in New York wasn’t from NY…

Hey Morning Squad,

This weekend was lit 🔥. Great games and some plot twists ahead.

The Games

1)The Bad Boy Bulls

I’m a believer that two things can be true at once.

WIth that said, I believe that it can be true that Brooklyn is the most talented favorite in the East…

And it can also be true, that the Bulls right now are the most complete team in the East.

The Bulls beat Brooklyn after being behind. Rallying in the 4th behind monster games from DeRozan and LaVine. Combining for 60 pts.

Defensively, they continue to get stops. Offensively they can score against anyone.

They’ve beaten Both LA teams, and Both New York Teams (twice). Hard to argue they aren’t the most complete squad right now.

2)Suns v. GSW Rematch

From Associated Press

If you’d caught me 4 days ago, I’d be telling you all about how the Phoenix suns had won 18 straight and were ready to beat Golden state for the second time in 5 days!!

Beating Steph & Company, making him have the worst shooting night of his career.

But today, clearly I need a Men In Black style memory wipe.

Friday night the Warriors thoroughly beat the Suns (Without Devin Booker) by 22 points. Ending their streak at 18 games.

Steph scores 23. Bunch of Highlight plays. Warriors in command most of the game.

We’ve got a real battle out West.

3)A moment in Boston

From The Athletic

The Celtics scored 145 against the Blazers in an embarrassing showing from Portland.

Tatum and Schroder both go for 31 int he win.

But more importantly Payton Pritchard, gets 19 points in 18 minutes off the bench. And is clearly a new fan favorite in the Garden.

Is it just me or do the Celtics keep picking up these lovable guys for garbage time? Tacko Fall, now Payton Pritchard.

Great job Brad!

4)Hornets sting the Hawks.

4 players on the Hornets were out with health & safety protocols but somehow they still get the win against the Hawks.

Miles Bridges (Future dunk competition champ??? ), drops 31 points & Kelly Oubre with 28.

Good win for the young squad.

5)Cleveland…1 star away?

Speaking of young squads.. are the Cavs 1 superstar away from contending in the East?

Now look, I know they lost the game against the Jazz but it was all the way to the final seconds. They had multiple shots to win it but couldn’t cash it in.

The Cavs are currently 7th in the East and seem to have a good rotation of players. Garland is coming up big for them in the 4th. Allen is locking up the paint.

Maybe if they had 1 more emerging star on the team…but who am I kidding it’s Cleveland!

The last star they had was born there.

Big League Chew

-Ray Allen is about to get lapped by 2 stars this season. Kevin Durant just passed him for 24th in scoring. (Congrats). And Steph is about to leap frog his 3pt record.

-Blazers fire their President.

-Lopez out for the Bucks with Back Surgery.

And that’s it everyone! Have a fantastic Monday!
